Bob Dylan is Jack Fate

In his first major movie role for "Masked And Anonymous", Bob Dylan plays an out of luck folk singer, Jack Fate, who is bailed out of jail by Uncle Sweetheart (John Goodman) to make his stage comeback for a benefit concert.

The cast surprises with a long list of well-known names such as Jessica Lange, Jeff Bridges, Luke Wilson, Penélope Cruz, Angela Bassett, Ed Harris, Chris Penn, Val Kilmer, Mickey Rourke, and Christian Slater, as well as Larry Campbell, Tony Garnier, and Charlie Sexton of Dylan's recent studio and tour band.
